My stride cuts through,

The bodies parting like a cream sea,

While heavy footfalls punctuate

A silence thickening the air,

Penetrating twin sets of lungs

And weighing them down

As if filled with marble.

 

The invisible brands

Burned into my skin without consent

Hiss at the bigoted.

Razor-sharp fangs display proudly,

Dripping with barely contained fury.

I am Medusa,

And they, the statues
