Like a plate of food, my America
is
collards, black eye peas
cornbread, and sweet potatoes
but mostly all around
it is like a dessert
on a saucer
a slice of sweet apple pie
says the poet
I serve to each and everyone, that
is America, the light of liberty like
a fork.
